To ensure a smooth handover of the prepared 3D model, we created the following list of instructions.
General Modelling Tips
- Position and Scale: place the model close to zero point (0,0,0) and use the correct scale
- File Structure: organize the 3d objects related to materials (models will be re-sorted to materials) or building elements
- Complexity: Large projects can be divided by camera or buildings
- Small Files: Remove unnecessary items ****like vegetation, furniture, people etc. We'll replace them anyway.
- Complete Model: Make sure, the model is clean and complete and has just one version of the building (not several copies)
- Clean Geometry: The 3d model should be modelled correctly, there should not be overlapping geometry, the intersections in between geometry has to be precise.
- Replacing the Model: It's possible to replace the model with a new one, if it has the same structure and position. Make sure to announce a possible replacement when you send the first model.
- Camera and Light settings: Usually those info get lost during the export. If you want us to use your exact camera settings, please send a screenshot with the position in the plan and a rough rendering.
- Export Formats: good formats for the exchange are 3ds, obj, fbx, rhino, c4d, 3dsmax
